"Turtle Cove was founded by Nic in 1995, an avid surfer, eccentric pioneer and particularly wild character. It started as a rustic surf camp catering for equally adventurous surfers who ventured up the coast during those untamed years. Nelia gradually joined Nic and settled permanently when he lured her by building the most extraordinary Yoga Shala for her. They consecrated their union in 2006 with a ceremony in the Shala after their romantic, spontaneous first wedding in Greece. Since the inception of the Yoga Shala in 2005, Turtle Cove moved organically towards a Yoga and Retreat Center. It brings them huge joy to attract facilitators from all over the world to host retreats of personal growth. Their own personal journey has also been one of change and transformation. They have both become passionate yogis with a desire to connect deeper with life, with heart and the stream of Creation. Nelia is a qualified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, teaching weekly in the Shala and their children’s school as well as offering Full Moon Women Circles and Womb Awareness Retreats. Nic is equally passionate about Chi Gong, participates in Men’s Circles, retreats and still surfs as often as possible. Although they are obsessed with surf, yoga and their children, its’ the people who work with them and the guests who visit that create the special atmosphere that keeps Turtle Cove legendary. It remains a relaxed and laid back destination, ideal for families, surfers, solo travellers and those seeking retreat alike.
